Information-powered device manages to cheat the laws of thermodynamics: practically something we all wished for since Warren Ellis mentioned it in Planetary, an engine that's driven by information, not by fusion or fuel of any kind. Read the IO9 article for a light theoretical introduction into thermodynamics. At the end I might have a use for all the university notes I haven't burnt, sacrificed or outright eaten. It is fairly obvious that seeing that number climb in the blog's right sidebar gives me a tinge of joy. Bone coins of gratitude and a grin goes out to whoever pushed Follow, it's great to see you around. If you come here often or even every once in a while and you haven't signed in to Networkedblogs, why don't you rock my day a bit more and push Follow this blog on the sidebar. We have been here before you, we haven't seen it coming, so you shouldn't see it either. We're already past this. You're not. Brace yourself. Just like freefall, only without wind, air and a parachute of arabesque joviality. Patterns are similar. No third-person view, no watch-my-back camera. We will watch you bleed away in approval and discontent. You will rise again anyway. Most probably, only without a sense of urgency and various traits, all connected to a storage unit still unlit, unbranded and debatably, unsigilized. Your search criteria haven't returned any significant, intelligible or relevant hits. With no search initiated, wonder why it hasn't. Wherever you think the bottom is, it's generally much, much lower. You'll know when you hit rock bottom. That very, very fundamental and hard moment of super-certainty.
norwegian tourism done well (7.5 hours worth of DJ mix!)
No doubt you are wondering what's all this about. In short: a group of dedicated djs who found a new family at DI.fm forums decided to put together a soundtrack for this beautiful 7 hour footage of the famous Bergensbanen line in Norway. There are 13 segments in total with 13 different ideas of a perfect soundtrack. If you enjoyed this video please share it with your friends. The Norwegian documentary Bergensbanen details the gorgeous 300-mile, 7.5-hour-long train ride from Bergen to Oslo. An intrepid group of DJs have scored the entire journey, which traverses the frozen region of Finse (a.k.a. Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back). (via io9)

This video highlights several clips we've made using our new High Dynamic Range (HDR) process. Video is captured on two Canon 5D mark II DSLRs, each capturing the exact same subject via a beam splitter. The cameras are configured so that they record different exposure values, e.g., one camera is overexposed, the other underexposed. After the footage has been recorded, we use a variety of HDR processing tools to combine the video from the two cameras. (via gizmodo)
Saturday early morning is perfect for digging through bookmarks, deleting dozens of them and posting what still looks interesting after weeks. So it's not exactly a new one but it still looks amazing, especially that the dream-like fog effect renders everything into a simile of Grand Theft Auto IV. Enjoy.
skynet symphonic (terminator 2 remix)
Comprising nothing but small sounds recorded from the James Cameron masterpiece 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day', 'Skynet Symphonic' is my tribute to one of the greatest action features of all time! Each section is composed entirely of sounds from a major scene in the film. For example, the Terminator pounding on the fire escape door is used as a kick drum. Bones breaking play the role of a snare. Electrical disturbance acts as a crash cymbal. (as recommended by @dawe_)

Csak hogy tudjátok mivel kezdeni a hétfőt: a Draft Dombok Felettje meglepően jó pontját képezi a mainstream magyar trancenek (ezt még @balazskassai javasolta a decemberi Mondos fotózás közben), Ludmillát bemutatni nem igazán kell (@razz0r tippje valamikor tegnap estéről az Ed Rush után), a T.A.T.U. reverz módon is kifejezetten élvezhető Ya Soshla S Uma-ját meg @honeymooncroon küldte, de amíg az univerzum nem töri fel az embed lockot, én sem fogom.
