[for that special new year's eve mood] international pony - gothic girl

International Pony, one of the best pop groups almost no one has heard of, outdid themselves with this grin-inducing video for "Gothic Girl." Depicting the trio (DJ Koze, Cosmic DJ and Erobique) decked out in fruit, feathers, make-up and spandex, the video shows IP transforming a group of gothic girls into back up dancers with their goofy antics. merry monday, new angelspit blipverts

Last Monday of the year coming up - no resolutions yet. No big articles yet. (Although I still owe you guys the best iPhone apps of the year and trust me, they're all good. And they're sort of all games.) Until I manage to scrap myself out of creative hiatus (and watching Dante 01 last night really hurt. It could have been an amazing comeback for Caro. Epic fail ensues!), here's two blipverts by DestroyX and Zoog of Angelspit.

something against the pouring rain, flashback

Just something against the pouring rain while updating simultaneously for four sites - French techno god Laurent Garnier's Flashback is one of the funniest nineties techno videos I've seen and trust me, this brief creativity hiatus will pass like fuck as soon as I manage to sleep 24 hours in a row. Or at least 12. Or something.

analogue sequencing tutorial: new blipvert by angelspit

If you're interested in more in-depth stuff about analogue sequencing and modulars, read the lengthy article Zoog of Angelspit wrote for The Dose. Which is making a comeback by the way. Only in a better way. (via analogue perversion)

And the number of sources is legion. Because all you embraced all the sanity loss that I'm going to live with with the twisted little sinister fuck kind of caring.

rihanna umbrella cover by hungarian dark/electro girlband black nail cabaret

Végül minden dolog visszatalál a saját medrébe.

[DD~1204] daily drums

The Twittercrowd can finally rest now without having to voldo their eyes out, I've really, really stopped posting the seemingly endless playlist that makes the office hours productive. Whenever there's a bigger link coming up, I'm posting it here for educational purposes, without links - so you have to find them yourself wherever and however you want to forcepull them into your life.

Dose 1 comes from the Philosomatika stream (eat this link with your winamp) and was mostly enjoyed with Milkdrop: Rovastar's Fractopia (Upspoken mix), Shifter's Digi, the Tokyo corridor (shifter tumbling cubes remix) and fiShbRaiN and Geiss's Witchcraft (Necromancer remix).

Dynamic - 24-Hours (VA - The Missing Link)
Sub 6 - Down N' Out (VA - Eruption)
Azax Syndrom vs Shift - How Do You Stop It Rmx (VA - Manga)
MFG - Positive Energy (Message From God)
Ranji vs Xanex - Investigation (VA - Wake Me Up)
Orion - Groove Control (Ibojima RMX) (VA - In Orbit)
Brethren And Outer Signal - Rock (VA - Deep Into the Nexus)
Toast3D - Efect Defect (High Infinity)
Slug - By Design (Hardwired)
Dualcore - Magnetic Area (VA - Goa Trance vol. 7.)
Eskimo - My Rave (Audio-X Rmx) (VA - No One Can Stop Us Now!)
Braincell - Little Worlds (VA - Little Worlds)
Wizzy Noise / Jaia - Crystal Noise (VA - Sprite)
Audio Unit - Pink Cup (VA - Cosmos)
Chronos - Sonic Drops (VA - Surya Namaha)
Bliss - Redemption Bong (VA - The Dark Side of the Groove)
Cosmic Tone vs Noga - It's Not Like That At All (Cosmic Tone rmx) (VA - Map of Goa vol. 3.)
Domateck - Pressure Point (Beat the Beast)

And before I let you go for the night, there's a ring visu of DJ Raaban's Anima Libera, a shamelessly happy italo tune of which I previously posted a Xmas remark - and I bet you all remember.

angelspit blipvert #6: roland jupiter 8

You will receive gorgeous pieces of intense wisdom during the next few days, starting with the sixth blipvert of cyberpunk-cum-underground-educator Angelspit. The vein-bursting archpriest of doom, Zoog is fiddling around with a piece of uncommon loot, the Roland Jupiter 8 and while you can download his jam here on his new blog Analogue Perversion (and finger it well and delicately, it is good stuff), what really makes this piece shine is his monologue until 1:30 (via analogue perversion)

"Monkey Jazz" : BEARDYMAN & mr_hopkinson

Combining the talents of 2 times UK Beatbox Champion Beardyman and master of the edit mr_hopkinson, this is a one take performance by Beardyman using live looping technology that has been visually explained and augmented by mr_hopkinson's edit and animation. Filmed at The Cube Cinema, Bristol UK. rinpa eshidan: street art collective interested in flow, not result

This is Friday morning, Saturday morning, Sunday morning material, piano-laden, brain-clutching, greyish urban, rubble-under-your-feet breeze parkour and it's really you and the momentum, wonderful flow. (rinpaeshidan.jp, youtube channel here)

"Rinpa" is a word created by the founders of the group meaning "to bring people together, while "Eshidan" essentially means "art crew." The Rinpa Eshidan is a team of artists brought together by a common creative expression.
The Rinpa Eshidan core team is made up of Noiz-Davi, Daisuke Yamamoto, D.H.Rosen, Akari Sasai and XOLA . The group's main activities are performing in live-art events and creating videos of art in action. Instead of focusing on the finished project, we believe the process of creation itself is where art comes to life and our videos aim to engage our audience in that process.

The long-awaited Rinpa Eshidan DVD "en" is now in stores, featuring new unreleased material you won't find on the internet, as well as all new music set to your Rinpa Eshidan favorites. All in high-resolution DVD quality, sez their site - grab the DVD here on amazon.jp!

mylène farmer - désenchantée (bercy 2006)

Si le ciel a un enfer
Le ciel peut bien m’attendre
Dis moi,
Dans ces vents contraires comment s’y prendre
Plus rien n’a de sens, plus rien ne va.

eyesequencer: and beauty has its own music now

I'm genuinely awestruck now, thanks to the Grinding guys, again! Eyesequencer is a project that basically transforms a hi-rez iris image into ambient (the sound is pumped out by Ableton, in the video example that's ambient but imagine how your pupils could retch some evil tekstep onto this world). According to the project description on makezine

Every now and then you see some particularly beautiful eyes … some of them inspired me to use images of eyes to create musical material. I wrote a little framework/application in Processing to help me analyse the image. “Scanners” circulate in the eye and analyse RGB and brightness values. These values are used to create OSC Messages, which then are send to SuperCollider. SuperCollider would be a great way to produce the sound, but for this example i decided to use SC3 to send MIDI events to Ableton Live, to two instances of the Alphakanal Automat Synthesizer.

I am so waiting for Brian Eno to use this. (via grinding via makezine via califaudio)

video interview with genesis p-orridge

Dutch site MetropolisTV just posted a video interview with Psychic TV's and Throbbing Gristle's Genesis P-Orridge. Wonderful and also, unfortunately, deeply sad. RIP, Lady Jaye. (via boingboing)

your irregular howto: björk on how a crt tv really works

Now this is amazing that sent me spiralling out into deep space: Björk rantling about how a CRT TV really works. Watch her gestures as she opens up the backside and starts talking about streets and elevators. Now this is mechanics 101 beyond recognition. I want a mechanic support like that, and I mean now. (via gizmodo)

sunday night, chinese extreme metal, female vocals

Sunday night, a link by Gargaj. Sunday night, I am on the lookout for voice augmentation, how to push objects down my throat to keep the kind gurgles down by two good octaves at least. You know the Lovecraft quote about the voice coming out from the wrong throat? There you go. Sometimes it's just so bad, you have to link it anyway.

UPDATE 1: First proof that the vocalist really is a female is at 4:22.

diamanda galas / charles baudelaire: les litanies du satan

According to this very blogpost, Warren Ellis loved to freak out his roommates some twenty years ago with Diamanda Galás' blood-curdling rendition of "Les Litanies du Satan". Split to two YouTube parts, there you go. I did the same myself with a Hybrids and Vidna Obmana joint album, "Music for Exhibiting Water with Content", although it has a Dutch title that actually brings up hits. Will need to research into that album as well - it seriously freaks people out with all the samples that had been recorded in a Dutch dolphinarium. (via warren ellis)
