vvvv: a profik ezzel építenek

(via tranzit.blog.hu)
szubkultúra alakult a szemeknek szánt orgiára
Eddig. (via tranzit.blog.hu)
[three from one] limp ninja: agnostic, erratic, unpredictable
Limp Ninja's been someone I've been keeping an eye out for since their XBOX demo Bi-Won: they're (according to a wiki I dug up from a Google cache) an international tongue-in-cheek demo group, notorious for releasing materials of surprisingly various degrees of quality - although you'll get three that are on the safe side in terms of awesomeness: all of them abstract and perfect handjob material for techno/electro freaks.
According to that wiki, they've been nominated for the Scene.org Awards for "Breakthrough Performance" in 2004 and "Most Original Concept" in 2005. Their releases are purely experimental and part of the concept that that any member can start a project. The group is international and they put a very strong emphasis on respective cultural elements: a decent potion of their releases contains Korean influences, a few of them Latin American input. (Above: miChera, ranked 2nd at evoke 2004 altenative demo compo. Below: ?, ranked 1st at outline 2007 combined demo/intro compo.)
And if you've ever been in love with Asian-influenced X-Mix style party visuals, here's your daily love, Bi-Won, berlin warehouse stomper minimal in the vein of Ken Ishii.

Still won't be a fan of Battlestar Galactica after this purely academic illustration of Six's dress - there's this huge BSG prop sale going on
views of fuji-san, submerge in irony

139 Views of Mt. Fuji (Keita Suzuki), inspired by Master Hokusai's 36 Views of Mount Fuji, as Pink Tentacle writes, the drinking glass lets you reflect on the ephemeral beauty of Mt. Fuji and the Japanese seasons while you drink. Enjoy a different “view” of the mountain with each new type of beverage you pour.

kewlers - variform (2002)
Every scener I've ever asked to recommend me the demo that's the closest to the essence of cyberpunk said Variform. So there. Wonderful, wonderful vocoder, everything tinted white and blue. Note: don't forget to grab your chair at 3:42, that's a definite keeper there that makes you float on electric boogie.

apnea: gorgeous and blogging

Fleshbot broke news on fetish/goth supermodel Apnea: she's got a new blog out and, the news coming from an adult portal, they're obviously hooked on the flesh imagery. This is a wink out to my huge Apnea-loving blogger colleague Hardergeneration. (via fleshbot)
daim: 3d graffiti 4 prez. kthxbai.
Seriously, one of the most awesome bunch of artworks I found during the past years leads to DAIM, world-acclaimed creator of 3D graffiti. According to what I dug up on a Hungarian graffiti blog, guy started working as Caza in 1989 and he took up his present nick in 1992. Member up Stick Up Kidz since 1994 and he's a genius - here's a Google Map that pinpoints the location of many of his werkz. And eat his MySpace as well.

mecha sunday, movie news
IO9 blips on two movies you and I all came to love. The Robocop franchise, as we all know, expects a re-make in 2010 by Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain). It turns out that the movie will not be a sequel, but a completely new take, co-orchestrated by script writer David Self. According to IO9, he's also hinting at a Peter Weller cameo (Weller being the "original" Robocop in the original movie.)
Appleseed director Shinji Aramaki is working on a new anime series called Viper's Creed by Gundam script writer Ai Ōta - ANN sez: "The story revolves around the members of a private military company (PMC), and the uneasy tension between them and the regular military after a war that caused massive environmental destruction."

fuzzion - looking for the east
Another demoscene stuff to make you think about how different life can be - another 4k demo vidcap. Yes, all the animation, the soundtrack and all in between (with quantum states and stuff) are all in 4096 bytes. So glad newbies are also checking this out, I'm so enjoying shocking people with the relative complexities of smaller scener materials. (via dtv)
UPDATE 1: Sceners will so bash me when they read about relative complexities.
UPDATE 2: And I also posted this because since I switched to a white design, every video and pic looks monochrome or midori/aoi. Happy colors are good for your health. And brand design. Cozycomfy visual effort leads to. Okay. Must spend time with Fallout 3 now.
zaha hadid alien opera house interiors
Parts of plans architect Zaha Hadid did for modernizing the Asian side of Istanbul (and also, Opera House desk plans!). Hadid's exhibition will be open 1 November - 13 December at the Sonnabend Gallery and 169 10th Avenue in New York, sez IO9. (via io9 via dezeen)
new rumour: desolation jones comics receives screen treatment?
IO9 talked to Hollywood producer David Friendly (Soul Men, Little Miss Sunshine, Laws of Attraction) who says he'd be interested in taking comics to the movie screen, specifically, Desolation Jones by none other than Warren Ellis.
According to the article, Desolation Jones is about a former agent of MI6 who undergoes the Desolation Treatment, which entails a year without sleep. He survives and becomes an all white and gray-colored man who kills without remorse. After the project ends, he lives in LA as a private eye who hallucinates all sorts of wacky stuff and works for the people of LA, which turns out to be chock full of imprisoned ex-agents - slightly misleading at a few points, missing out a year of medical torture, psychological disorders, PTSD, an underground and secretive community of LA spooks that cannot leave the city. With some exceptions, of course.
Warren sez the following: "All I can tell you is that we've never heard from David Friendly." (via io9)
