22 International Poster Biennale, Warsaw 2010 (exhibition infographics)

School project for Editorial Design classes at Department of Graphics, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (Poland) during 2nd semester of Master Degree studies. Subject: "Grand Prix".

I have decided to create infographic of exhibition 22 International Poster Biennale, Warsaw 2010 exhibition organized by Poster Museum at Wilanów in Warsaw, which includes graphical presentation of laureates posters, recognitions, numerical visualisation of submitted posters, authors and their countries of origin.

Vera Moiré just sent me this wonderful Polish infographics with amazing detail shots. This monstrous motherfucker is one of the best movations to keep us on the road (and in focus) for (even) better graphics design. (link to behance)

FASHION: Gabriel Dishaw's 'cyberpunk' sneakers

If that counts as cyberpunk, that's for the DIY self-grinding implant fetishist yogis out there who drink their vitamin juices through their urethra. This is an OLDIE, Gabriel Dishaw's DIY shoes, coming from Wired UK's 2009 archive, but hey - this does count as timeless.

[ANIMATION] SUBWARS: Black, red, white - and lightsabres. In China.

Talk about the Chinese psyche on hallucinogenics. SubWars, Sean Soong's 6-min animation is nothing short of breathtaking, bizarre and bombastic, mixing anime visuals with Star Wars references, a touch of Eastern European grime polish and self-gratifying violence. As he says, An old man on the subway, but nobody can Offer one 's seat to him……At the same time, the old man …… I want talk about some problems in society, and Morality. (via vimeo)

CYBERPUNK ANIME: Exaella

Powerful, dark & dramatic - three-word association game for Andrew Oudot's 2011 underdog cyberpunk anime EXAELLA. It's been almost two years since I last gave word about a second trailer of Exaella and now Andrew has given us word that we've been looking the wrong way - his gritty cyberpunk 4-part OVA is now available via DVD and digital download and now we know a lot more about its bleak world, way too bleaker than that of Ergo Proxy. And quite similar to the shadowy monochrome monogatari of Blame! in feeling. Only with more wonderful UI overlays. (Click inside for more images, videos and details of DARK MORBID CYBERPUNK ROCK!)

SHORT FILM: Archetype, futuristic viral video goes feature film

Sometimes dreams do come true, just ask special effects guru and burgeoning director Aaron Sims. His short film, Archetype, looks like a blockbuster Hollywood movie, and now it has a chance to become one. Weeks after Archetype went viral on YouTube (spawning many mirrored copies in several different languages), producer John Davis has bought the rights to turn it into a full length film. Davis, who produced the Will Smith Asimov-esque I, Robot (2004), had recent success with the found-footage sci-fi hit Chronicle. With decades of experience in movies as a special effects designer in major motion pictures (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, I am Legend, The Incredible Hulk, etc) Sims will now get a chance to direct the adaptation to his own work. FASHION: Nange Magro, mind-controlled dress

The mind-controlled dress, created by designer Nange Magro, is utterly captivating. It lights up and changes shape according to the level of concentration in your brain — and in particular, its skirt pulls back, like a spooky insect's wings, to reveal a shiny latex undergarment. Which might make it difficult for others to concentrate. (via io9, more on vimeo)
