mirror’s edge scee gamer’s day trailer out

Without too much to say about this: first trailer of Dice/EA first-person parkour game Mirror’s Edge, the best of part of which is by far the music. I’d still opt for the Tony Hawk Pro Skater-kind of TPS solutions but anyways. Eat this with a grin.

  1. Looks sweet, but my only problem with it (from the trailer anyway) was the cop fighting scenes. Maybe it’s just me, but as the brother of an officer of the law, I don’t feel this portrays a good image. Why couldn’t it just be people after you or something else? Is there a storyline? Maybe a good reason WHY this character is fighting the cops?

  2. Blacklight

yeah, there’s a reason, It’s like a totalitarian city and their after her for delivering valuable info or something.

  3. damage

the depiction of law enforcement in fiction has always been divided: you had the bad cops and you had the good ones and you have countless examples of both. i don’t know cops but i hear stories all the time and what boils down at the end is the same: there are good ones and bad ones, taking this personally would not be a very wise idea.

law enforcement in a future society which bans information exchange obviously wants to incarcerate elements like Faith whose life is about courieering, so gameplaywise cops are nothing more like actors with guns and a cop’s suit. (and parkour movies tend to have this element: slow cops versus fastrunners)

The television skies of Chiba City branded his brains in 1992. He hasn't recovered fully since. Re-wired his brain with a few years of FastTracker, hosted radio shows on the first .hu netradio for 4 years, went on to broadcast radio for another two. Worked on the absurd radio series Kónuszék, that actually led him to become a script writer for the multiple-award winning animation Nyócker.

Started LD50 in 2001, an alternative community portal for some, a media experiment for him. DJ'd and organized for 6 years @ Budapest: the first weekly gothic/industrial clubnights, the VK/jrock Nippon Shoxx and the biggest local industrial/cyber party series called Kollektíva, among many. Key figure behind the cyberpunk PDF magazine THE DOSE and he's making a comeback with it.
