STriDER

25 September 2007 1 views 2 Comments

Self-excited Tripedal Dynamic Experimental Robot aka STriDER, developed at Virginia Tech. 0.9 meters tall, they walk by placing their weight on two legs and then falling away from their third leg, turning their body upside down and catching their fall with the free leg. The robot is supposed be uber-stabile by using the tripod stance, you lock the joints and you don’t have the exercise any force for upkeep. Supposedly plants cameras at a later stage.
